25 Years of Miracles at Bowling Green State University

On May 2, Falcon Miracles at Bowling Green State University (formerly known as Dance Marathon at BGSU) will mark 25 years of partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals!  With more than $5 million raised and over 10,000 registered participants in the life of the organization, Falcon Miracles has become an integral part of the student experience at BGSU.

Thank you to everyone for joining us this week and today for Falcon Friday as we celebrate our 25th year! FTK forever. ⭐️?

In 1996, Dance Marathon at BGSU began under the slogan, “A Challenge Today, A Brighter Tomorrow.”  Since that time, Falcon Miracles has engaged 500 students per year in two unique fundraising events – Ziggython and Bike for Tikes – benefiting the children and families treated at Mercy Health – Children’s Hospital in Toledo, OH.  Ziggython, the traditional Dance Marathon event, began in a gymnasium on the BGSU campus as a group of students stood up to make a difference in children’s health.  Five years later was the inaugural Bike for Tikes, a 180 mile charity bike ride that begins in Cincinnati and ends at Ziggython. Together, these two events span the state of Ohio to raise funds and awareness for their local children’s hospital.

Today’s students know that the original slogan, “A Challenge Today, A Brighter Tomorrow,” rings just as true now as it did 25 years ago.  Despite having their physical events canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the students persist and will mark their anniversary this weekend with a senior celebration and fundraising reveal.  You can get involved by donating here and follow this weekend’s celebration on Falcon Miracles’ Instagram and Facebook pages.
