Costco is Helping Nationwide Children’s Hospital Toledo Change Kids’ Health May 1-31
Local children’s hospitals are on the frontlines when protecting the health of future generations. But they can’t do it alone. Each dollar that Costco and its members raise through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) improves kids’ health, allowing them to grow to their full potential.
In May, you can help to change kids’ health for local children’s hospitals through CMN Hospitals during the annual Costco fundraising campaign. Shop online or in-warehouse at Costco, donate to help kids like Roman. Roman was born at just 2 lbs., 10 oz. He suffered from severe brain bleeds and had to overcome the many obstacles stacked against him. After birth, he remained in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for three months before he released to go home. Upon his release, he was sent home with a heart rate monitor and remained on oxygen. At the age of 3, Roman was placed on seizure medication for severe brain bleeds. His family was told that he would have to remain on the seizure medication for life. After several consultations, it was determined that Roman no longer required the medication. At age 6, he was taken off of his medication and has remained seizure free. Today, Roman is an 8-year-old all “A” student that enjoys biddy wrestling and is looking forward to trying football. He is bilingual – fluent in both Lao and English! The family is grateful to have had the best care from the doctors and nurses.
The Costco fundraising campaign runs through May 31, where funds go to local children’s hospitals through CMN Hospitals to directly help kids like Roman have a life full of wonder and possibility in our community. Last year, Costco employees and members donated more than $222,000 for kids treated at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Toledo.
